Katherine/Kat Su graduated from Tufts University in 2022 with a Master's degree in School Psychology. Prior to graduate school, she received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Grinnell College with a budding interest in translating psychology to help youth discover their strengths and apply that knowledge to improve their well-being. To actualize this aspiration, she has provided behavioral therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder and mentored youth with mental health diagnoses using trauma-based approaches. Most recently, she interned at an elementary school as part of her Tufts program, where she collaborated with educators, children, parents and healthcare providers to support students' emotional health.
Kat's goal is to create and contribute to creative bridges between seemingly disparate fields; one of them being clinical psychology. She believes that giving children and adolescents opportunities to voice their thoughts and share their stories is critical to their personal growth. Working at the play2PREVENT lab as a postgraduate research associate offers a combination of those passions.
During her free time, Kat likes to listen to hip hop music, create videos and play with her dog, Suga.
