play2PREVENT Lab/Peer Health Exchange

In the fall of 2015, the play2PREVENT Lab and Peer Health Exchange (PHE), a non-profit group that works in low-income, urban high schools to supplement or provide sexual health education programming, partnered together with the goal of integrating PlayForward: Elm City Stories with PHE’s new blended sexual health curriculum. We gathered preliminary implementation and evaluation data in a pilot study of two national high schools that primarily serve at-risk adolescents.

This research project valuably helped us understand how the videogame intervention could extend beyond the randomized controlled trial into a real-world setting, guiding us to address issues of external validity and consider how to increase relevance to existing practice.
